merSETA Discretionary Grant: 3rd Funding Window For 2022/23 Financial Year Application: Specific Initiatives

The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) invites relevant stakeholders to apply for discretionary grants for the 2022/23 financial year (3rd Funding Window). The third funding Window aims to invite applications to address specific national and sector needs for
the initiatives below listed.

  1. Skills development programmes through partnerships with levy-paying and
    non-levy-paying employers, to address the following:
    o Skills Programmes for employed learners
    o Learnerships for employed learners
    o Bursaries for employed learners (New and Continuing)
    as identified in the merSETA Sector Skills Plan (SSP) and Annual
    Performance Plan.
  2. Skills development programmes through partnerships with Organisations
    supporting bursaries, Higher Education Institutions and TVET Colleges
    (Public) to address the following:
    o Bursaries for unemployed learners (New and Continuing)
  3. Cooperative enterprise development programmes for both manufacturing,
    engineering and related services (mer) occupations in demand and supporting
    business/organisation develop skills.
  4. Skills development for trade union members.
  5. Community Education and Training (CET) College funded for merSETA occupational programmes, equipment and workshop infrastructure (excluding bricks and mortar).
  6. Research – TVET Growth Occupationally directed programmes.

b) Cooperatives operating within the mer-sector
c) Trade Unions
d) Higher Education Institutions
e) TVET Colleges
f) CET Colleges
g) Research Organisations
